If you’re following the news out of Texas, the state has just sued a homeless shelter for doing exactly what you described: going out into the streets, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and visiting the incarcerated. By that last one, I mean providing addicts with clean needles so they don’t spread disease and infection.

The shelter has claimed that their actions are how they exercise their religion. We’ll see if religious liberty allows us to practice our faith based on an inclusive reading of the Bible.

I wait for your posts. They help me feel I’m not alone. I would not say I’m a Christian, but the things taught by him resonate as a human being.
