John. Once again you have it correct when you express the false piety of MAGA Christian nationalism. The Pope has their number and has no problem telling them the truth. He is the best Catholic Church leader for this time in history.

Thank you for putting into words what has been whirling around in my head. Jesus must weep constantly at the things done in his name.

I grew up believing this was only a Christian belief. Then as an older adult via a long journey, I discovered that it is a Universal Christ of Divine LOVE. Not a religion not another fabrication of man, but a relationship in and with The Relationship at the Center of the Universe. Mystics, prophets and poets throughout time have tried to introduce us to this Truth.

I love your perspective on this, and while many of us have written (and spoken) publicly about this ungodly charter that is promoted by MAGA Christianity, on deeper reflection it's easy to see how all of this is the fulfillment of Scriptures:

Even a cursory glance at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 will clearly outline exactly what's playing out before our eyes:

1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.

2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.

4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.

5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

Thank you for highlighting the truth of WCN and maga. They don't like the message so, they try to destroy the messenger. However, it will fail. Jesus is everything they stand against. They've made for themselves an idol.

John, Amen to that!!

Jesus is having nothing to do with these hateful, ignorant so-called Christians. He’s busy with more pressing matters.

It’s clear that maga hates Jesus, they deny him with everything they do. There’s an old saying “You may be the only Gospel someone reads”. That means we should live our faith daily, and be a light in the darkness. MAGA only lives hatred of the “other”, anyone who is different from themselves.

MAGA/White Christian Nationalist may have invaded Earth from a collapsing alternate reality.

Probably the most despicable illustration of Trump's anti-Christian stance was when he dared to say at Charlie Kirk's funeral, going against the (alleged) beliefs of the very man he was eulogising, that while Kirk's Jesus said to forgive your enemies, Trump snarled, 'But I HATE my enemies!' And he got a cheer for it. What a disgusting words-can't-describe piece of filth this man is. And his followers too.

John,

This says it all and very eloquently.

The true prophets were/are always vilified because they spoke truth to power & Empire. Leo XIV was simply offering Palm & Easter Sunday "sermons" to the worlds' Catholics & other Christians but the spiritually deaf & dead couldn't / wouldn't hear it.

I’m a former Catholic. It scares me that people want this Pope murdered. Christian Nationalist are insane people. 👎🏻

This is all so painful.

Our nation has been taken hostage by a small group of Jesus-haters, misusing his words and his life. People who hate Jews often justify their ugliness calling them “Christ-killers”. But it is pretty easy to see who the real Christ-killers are. 🤦‍♀️

What can we do? These people are wreaking havoc throughout the world in OUR/AMERICA’S name! And in Jesus’ name and the God Jesus said IS Love. 🤦‍♀️ It makes me physically ill.

During World War II millions of Jews and other people groups were slaughtered, among them many soldiers fighting for right. And many good people took great risks to protect the Jews, hide them and get them out of harm’s way. And many of them died too.

Many Americans actually believe we’re a “Christian” nation. Yet from World War II moving forward we have engaged in more wars where we caused more damage than good and so so many people died horrible deaths.

That the US and ISRAEL of all people, should join in attacking Iran and other countries with the desire to commit genocide is . . . horrific. Israel wasn’t satisfied with destroying the Gaza Strip and murdering it’s people, with America’s help. They are clearly revealing their bloodthirsty hate in their wretched hearts and twisted minds. And praising “god” while they do it.

The outcomes of World War II has always troubled my faith. I can’t help but wonder, where was God then? And can we expect any different results in spite of our prayers and pleadings? Sometimes I just don’t know . . .🤦‍♀️

Well said! Only one small nuance: Jesus didn't hate wealth or the wealthy. His ministry was supported by wealthy women. A wealthy woman anointed him with a costly perfume from an expensive jar she broke and when Judas complained, Jesus said that her lovely extravagant gesture would be remembered throughout history. Jesus was laid in the family tomb of a rich man, his follower Joseph or Arimathea. Yes, he told one young rich man to sell everything and follow him and the man went sadly away. Jesus knew how much the man loved his money. Jesus did urge the just and proper use of money and preached against selfishness and evil gain. But I feel this is an important clarification. Money is morally neutral. What is done with it is what is judged.
