Your use of the term, "tribe" resonates with me. Just as the pandemic was starting I experienced a major relational trauma with the pastor of our church who denigrated me in an email addressed to the leadership team of which I had been a part. Thankfully we were immediately in the lock-down phase of COVID and I just didn't participate online or go back physically so other relationships were just left in limbo but not directly harmed. I gradually experienced a major disconnect from the evangelical sub-culture I had grown up in and served as a pastor's wife in, exactly as you described, realizing that the people I once felt comfortable with were largely now "Trump-vangelical" types. I've found an online church with a pastor I highly respect for the many books of his I've read and a few in-person encounters.

Yes, Mary. Many of us are learning we will be doing life with different people than we may have imagined at one time. I'm glad you've found a faith community where you feel connected.
