I'm glad that I'm part of Team Gus and not with the bullies.

As Pete Buttigieg said so beautifully in his Convention speech regarding the narrow thinking of those like Trump and Vance, that they are..."one of those guys who thinks if you don't live the life he has in mind for you, then you don't count."

Trump has brought out the very worst in so many people. It is tragic that he has been able to do such a successful job. There was a time not so long ago, that if a person running for any office, let alone the President of the United States, mocked a person with disabilities, his or her political career would end. Full stop. Our citizenry would not have tolerated it. The Evangelicals would have been one of the first groups to condemn this hateful and unkind act. How very, very low they have fallen. I am a Christian and have been for decades. It is embarrassing to me that Evangelicals call themselves Christians. There is literally very little evidence they follow the teachings of Christ Jesus at all. For them, it's all about pointing out the faults of others. We are all capable of being our worst selves. That's why a continual walk with God is so vitally important. Without His love and wisdom we can lose our way. It's clear that some folks who claim to be Christians have lost their way. They've gone to a place that a Christian should never go - mocking another human being. Yet, once you cross that line I guess mocking a young man for expressing his love and pride in his dad is acceptable. Shame on them!
