I have tears running down my cheeks as I read your spot on analysis. As you said, I don’t care what side of the aisle you are on, you cannot with a straight face, say that Joe Biden isn’t a decent, loving, compassionate, empathetic soul. We are not only living in an inhumane time, where the leaders at the top haven’t an ounce of compassion or decency, always turning tragedy into political soulless rhetoric, but we’re missing joy. You never see joy coming from the top unless it’s at the expense of the marginalized being brutalized, degraded or dehumanized. Their joy comes at the expense of others‘s, Biden’s joy, comes from the EXPANSE of others potential. He’s always rooting for America to live up to its potential, and for EVERY American to have the opportunities we ALL deserve. Oh how I miss that. 😔

Julianne, beautiful heartfelt & moving response to John’s exquisite tribute to Joe Biden, our former President and truly honest empathetic & decent man. I miss the days of possibilities, hope and exuberance we once had.

🥺 thank you Dawn, and beautifully moving comments by you as well. Will we ever see those days again? I fear I won’t be here to see them, but I pray for generations to come, that this isn’t there new reality. This cesspool of hate, derogation and constant fighting. We are supposed to be the “United States” not the “Divided States”.💔

Beautiful, John. I couldn’t agree more. Biden is a kindhearted, compassionate man. The greatest of these is love. You are shining that light on Biden and it also reflects on you. Thank you.

President Biden is an amazing man and was an amazing president. Yes, he made mistakes, but all of us make mistakes, including presidents. But Biden always cared, always showed compassion and empathy and for that I was and will always be grateful.

Wow, thank you John, you really spoke my heart. President Trump doesn't even understand why someone would put themselves out there for another. It's not in his DNA. That's why he could sit in his lair on Jan 6, eating cheeseburgers and fries and watching the best show on earth.

I seriously don't think we can go the distance with this term of his.

Whatever else Biden’s critics may say ( much of it questionable) , you can’t argue that the man has grace and the ability to connect with people at the most difficult points in their lives.

It’s a gift that one develops from caring, faith, and love for humanity as well as honesty.

These are the most important attributes a leader or anyone can have.

Unfortunately , this regime neither possesses humanity, or love for people.

It’s all punitive and destructive to everyone .

All about power to crush those people who are , in fact , human beings.

Biden had a human VP. We lost a chance at humanity when she was defeated. We don’t get a Mulligan on elections.

But we should get a Mulligan on this election since they cheated.

Someone has to prove it and it will be hard even with evidence that’s there. I assume someone is working on it.

Thank you. There are so many profoundly bad things that have happened, but I will never forgive legacy media for their constant attacks on Joe Biden. Even now Jake Tapper had the audacity to say President Biden cared more for his career than his family. This is not only wrong but offensively wrong. I've cried for the Hortmans and their sweet boy, Gilbert. I've cried because legacy media just doesn't care. And I cried watching President Biden pay his respects, not only to the Hortmans and their family but to the golden retriever honor guards. President Biden is a good, decent man. Thank you for recognizing it.

Well said. Biden has always been compassionate, unlike the current occupant of the White House who also refused to call Walz. It simply floors me that the MAGATS don't see his total lack of empathy for anyone but himself.

This was so beautifully written and so very true, John. I have been so deeply sad today thinking of the Hortman’s funeral - the horrific, senseless loss of two bright, caring and loving souls. I grieve for their children and for everyone.

I’m glad President Biden was there to offer his comfort and deep empathy. He is a good man. I grieve because of the hatred, cruelty and insanity this president, his administration and his followers support and are inflicting on this country and the world. I am so deeply sad.
