And 80% of the humans sent to El Salvador have NO criminal record and 100% of the humans have had no due process.

Further, they are coming for US citizens next.

Our USAID cuts are allowing children in South Sudan to die of cholera.

Medicaid cuts will take away health care from the elderly, the poor (mostly children), and newborns.

We will all be poorer from the economic "policies" being undertaken so more children will be thrown into poverty.

Why? So the morbidly rich can hoard more and force us all to follow their "Christian nationalism."

We ALL need to fight back RIGHT NOW.

It is beyond the imagination and yet we are living it, seeing it happen before our very eyes and this entire administration thinks all is fine. Heartbroken and downright frightened and it's been less than 3 months.

Susan, they KNOW it isn’t fine, but they don’t care. They are barely human. I would like to be privy to what the “chosen” were taught in Project 2025 University after they were selected. Their utterances are all orchestrated. They had to pledge fealty and promise to participate in the dissolution of the government. This is not one sub-human life form making independent decisions. He has NO morality or scruples, so whatever his pathology suggests itself to him, he is more than ready to go with it. Think Steven Miller. Did you see the glee on his face at the meeting with Bukele? How, in the name of ANY God, has he survived? He is a nazi monster, has been compared to Goebbels, and has become this in only 37 years. What twisted genetics makes these people like this?

Pam Bondi and Karoline Leavitt besmirch the crucifix every day, wearing the sign of salvation and compassion around their necks. Let lightening strike their throats!

I think I’ve vented enough for now. Forgive me, but I have so much hatred in my heart!

I couldn't agree more E Louise, my BP goes sky high and our budget for wine has increased dramatically since 1/20. Steven Miller is the devil incarnate. Love your comment about where lightening should strike. If we couldn't vent, we would explode and as you, my heart is filled w/ hatred for them.

I just called all my (republican) reps, and their timidity and lack of pushback is extremely upsetting. They must *know* how wrong this all is, but they are both hiding out fearing repercussions, and they are blatantly lying to defend it. Unbelievable.

I’m afraid that they’re not really fearful, but they are greedy, craven, amoral, and entrenched in this despicable administration. We’ve been “forgiving” them for months, thinking they fear Trump. I think they applaud his actions and his immorality. I’ve been reading two books by Mike Lofgren: The Party’s Over discusses the demise of the Grand Old Party over the past several DECADES. It isn’t sudden; The Deep State. I recommend both. They might help you understand, not forgive, the derelicts!

Thank you. Churches must uphold Christ’s teachings and defy Trump and his regime to be truly Christian.

the hypocrisy is unreal...unfortunately it has always been there, now it's just so much more in our faces. I quit organized religion in my teens, but I still follow the basic tenets of decency. It's unreal that so many of those who profess 'faith' do not. Thank you for being a voice to bridge that divide.

I agree! My husband is a minister at North Vernon United Methodist Church in Indiana. Last Sunday he bravely called us to action. Watch his sermon on YouTube. Minutes 33 to 53 in the service. This was not easy for him to do. We are in ruby red Indiana.

John, the people behind Project 2025 are dictating things now. Trump is following their playbook step by step almost exactly as it is written. Peter Thiel and the Heritage Society, as well as the other groups (hundreds) listed in the credits of Project 2025 have millions of dollars. Their goal was and continues to be taking over the US government and forcing their christianity (lower case c on purpose) down everyone's throats. They have no interest in what Jesus taught. You might read "Republican Jesus" by Tony Keddie. It's insightful. While you rightfully rail against false christians, you know they won't listen to you. May I suggest you take that wonderful outrage and use it to support any person or group that is working against all this horrible stuff. There are many that help the earth, the immigrants, the poor, the disenfranchised and the animals. Your passion is beautiful but don't let the dummies get to you. Illegitimi non carborundum (Don't let the bastards get you down.)

I assure you that John’s writings are supporting people and groups who are working against this horrible stuff. I have been active in politics since I was a teenager (I’m in my 70’s now) and have worked for every cause you mentioned, and more, but I was so completely devastated by the results of the recent election that I wanted to give up fighting altogether — everything felt hopeless — but John’s writings have given me strength again and continue to sustain me, and I know that I’m not alone in feeling this way.

Seeing the photo of Garcia and his child in your post, I was overcome with grief. What are we becoming? What have we become, to shrug and say "ah well". The disconnect with so much of America's Christian community is staggering. Your words are my thoughts, and though I have to admit it hurts like hell to keep my eye on the atrocities that happen daily in the new USA, I try not to look away; but keep breathing in and out with this pain. Is this helping? I don't know, but I know I thank God for you and for all in my community who care, and who dare to keep love alive amidst this turmoil.

My Pastor has become bold in his role and takes his calling very seriously. In last Sunday's service, the message was taken from Luke 19:28-44 ~ Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem just before Passover, the multitudes declaring Him their King.

If any congregant left that service not challenged to their core by this young Preacher, then Jesus is weeping for them just as He wept for Jerusalem on that day.

Yeah, John, and it will not be long before all of us are potentially in the same boat as Mr. Garcia. Over past couple of days Trump has said out loud, in front of numerous witnesses, that he wants five more prisons built so he can deport people--including American citizens guilty of nothing more than 'being nonproductive,' which I assume means me, my husband and most of our friends, all of whom worked paying jobs all of our lives and contributed to Social Security, put money into our retirement accounts and are now living frugal and modest lives in WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A FREE COUNTRY. Can we really--any of us, ignore the meaning of this? Let's not forget that important influencers in this country have 'joked' about turning 'nonproductive' people into biofuel to power giant AI farms at some so far undetermined point in the future. Once they have trampled Congress and the Supreme Court and maybe even the military, no doubt. That we are on the road to ruin seems clear. So how much longer are we going to dye eggs and ignore what's happening? Honest to God question.

So true Leigh. I'm still for some dumb reason shocked when I see so many people I know reply "what?? Huh? Why, what's happening??" to posts about the terrifying things happening right in our faces. And then I recall how I used to enjoy the privilege of ignoring politics and comfortably skating thru life feeling it will all work out thanks to checks and balances. The guardrails and grown ups with morals will right the ship. All gone now and it's going to be a little late when so many of the citizens look up and see what has gone too far to be turned back. Ignore the 'brown man who was probably doing something wrong and that's why he was deported because you can't just disappear people in America' at your own peril.

Yeah. The shock of it all has been taking its toll on most of us. The shattering of comfortable illusions is like that. I am working hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel and to keep moving toward it, even as I have to step aside every so often to throw up.

You know we have a problem when ..

" The millions of Christians filling those pews and sitting in those chairs won’t allow the messy, sickening reality of the suffering inflicted upon a husband and father (suffering, many of them enabled with their votes) to interrupt their self-sedating performative religiosity."

I would recommend watching Bernie and AOC rallies everywhere they go speaking Truth to the power and showing Americans they are ONE!!

...really therapeutic 🙏❤️‍🩹

Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Garner,NC has Abrego Garcia on its prayer board and has been praying for him the past two weeks at both services (9 and 11). Although we did have his first name wrong initially as did the news. Anyone in the area looking for a place to worship is more than welcome. ❤️

I too felt nauseous watching Shitler in that gold-bedazzled room, sitting with the president of El Salvador. Out loud and on TV they both declared indifference to human rights and rule of law. We are in deep trouble and yet what can we do? We must at least say NO, this is wrong!! May God give us courage to change the things we cannot accept!
