Although I will not lift my arm to harm him, and do not find any comfort or celebration in yesterday’s alleged incident; I do find great joy and comfort in knowing that I am on the right side of history. That I recognize evil, in whatever form of injustice and deceit it may appear. That I know the difference between love and hate. The video begins with him standing at the podium, acknowledging the audience. Popping sounds, he grabs his ear and sinks to the ground. The Secret Service swoops in and struggle with him to get him to his feet while surrounding him. There was a moment when you could see Trumps face but immediately, one of his entourage put his arm up to eliminate the sight line. Amazing level of sacrifice to protect him. That’s their job and they do it incredibly well.
Then it appeared that Trump continued to fight with his protectors to reenter a sight line, raise his fist and show off his bloodied cheek. (I understand that the Secret Service kept him down until they had word that the shooter had been spotted and eliminated. ). It appeared that the group lifted him in order to rush him off the stage.
I am so sorry that someone was killed and three others injured in this attack. I believe the Secret Service’s prompt reaction kept it from being much worse. The assault rifle the gunman was using was capable of shooting many more rounds into the audience.
I will be watching the RNC Convention to see their version of uniting our divided nation. I am not hopeful in that regard. I am furious that the classified documents case has been thrown out. Tump stole those classified documents AFTER Biden was sworn in as POTUS. That means Trump was NO LONGER POTUS & his Presidential immunity had expired. At that point he was just another common thief. I will be paying careful attention to the reactions in Trumpworld to the alleged unification plan.
