Thank you, John. Your words are calming and a solace in a time of great turmoil. What I hear in your writing is the embodiment of a quotation (sorry, don’t know the source) I heard years ago: “If a person has integrity, nothing else matters. If a person doesn’t have integrity, nothing else matters.” Integrity doesn’t care what day it is. We do what we have to do on Tuesday, just like every other day. Peace be with you, Dave

Thank you so much for the excellent reminder that life will go on, whatever the results of the election. God is calling us (as always) to be our best selves - no matter what.

We each have the opportunity to be all that we can be each day; we’re always “under construction”.

Another wonderful reminder that today in the now is the only place where and when we can actually take action. I often take pictures of my feet to remind myself where I am. And the next time I look at that photo? I’m already somewhere else.

Thank you so much for this article. I’m in a grieving funk. In two years, I have lost 3 brothers, 4 brother-in-laws , a sister -in-law and my husband of 58 years. My daughter has had a heart attack and a stroke and needs brain surgery. I just found out I have stage four kidney disease. I can’t share this with my family. I’m so lost. I will vote this Tuesday for Harris and Walz. I need help!!

Louise, I will be praying for you! The high levels of grief and experienced losses you've encountered sound overwhelming to say the least. May you find just the right support group/grief counselor to assist you in managing the pain you have. Darling lady, I send you my love.

I'm not as worried. Apparently Trump's Madison Square Garden fiasco has turned the betting world around. As I look at the Virtual Tout Ticker, it currently shows Harris 296-Trump 242 in electoral votes. The site accurately predicted thee 2020 election AND both the very close Georgia Senate races. There is an article from Fortune Magazine telling about this site. But you can probably get the article by googling Tom Miller (the statistician) and Fortune Magazine. Fortune wrote their article after the remarkable change in this site since last Sunday. Virtual site: https://virtualtout.io/

Even as I posted this and went back to the virtual tout site, Harris lead is now 282-256.

Oh I wish it were "just Tuesday" - yes, I know it is every day..and I know that it isn't one election. It's all those for US Senate and House, the state houses and local elections, school boards, reproductive rights. I am strangely calm tonight. Perhaps because in my head, I use one of the 'rules' of Open Space (facilitation/meeting) - 'what happens is the only thing that could have' except I'll second guess - if we'd only started sooner, if we'd sent more cards, if we had more money to give [tho' on that I really want to change all that - what good the billions of donated dollars for political races could do for others], and if if if. May we all find peace and calm and each other for comfort and may we believe in the truly better angels among the US population.
