Another 100! I just wrote my senator who amazingly stood up to Trump in defense of Ukraine. Please let us sign the letter along with you!!

You must be from SC too, where we have to put up with that lousy POS named Lindsey Graham. I am sickened by Trump, Vance, Musk, Graham , Rubio and countless other republicans who obviously have no souls, since they’ve long since sold them to Satan. On the other hand, Mr Pavlovitz has written the most compelling statement that reflects my feelings precisely. I hope and pray that Zelensky knows that The current Washington leadership does NOT represent the feelings of the vast majority of Americans.

Ditto. Senator Graham seems to have a withered soul, a withered spine, a withered short term memory and a withered heart. His brain appears to be reduced to the reptilian parts concerned primarily with survival.

Lindsay Graham is one of the many disgusting hypocrites who have condemned Trump in the past and behind closed doors, but started praising him when he realized that Trump could bring him down. Trump is like a mob boss, and these spineless cowards let him scare them into obeisance.

I remember reading that after McCain 's death that Graham slithered over to Trump because he just had to be close to power. SC politics seem to have a tendency to throw up less than stellar candidates.

This adult-life-long Democrat misses John McCain and his influence on his party. I believe him to have been the final holdout. Without him, they've completely sold their souls.

Rubio is like Esau, who sold his birthright dor a mess of pottage. So many GOP figures have thrown away whatever shreds of integrity they might have had. I hope the payments they received were worth thr price of their reputations.

Alabamaians sold their souls long ago. We're completely controlled by Repubs down here. No one else has even a fighting chance.

Oops….i misread your post. You have a senator who STOOD UP to Trump. So you obviously are not from South Carolina. Lucky you, and apologies for my misread.

Believe me it was a shock when Thomas Tillis spoke up -otherwise he’s been approving disturbing Cabinet nominees etc.

OMG, you must have gotten his email about his visit to Bucha too! Because I responded and said - if you SAW this, if you KNOW what's going on there, then HOW are you supporting this administration? WHY are you not voting to impeach? WHY did you vote for his cabinet picks? Walk the damn walk!

Wow!! I was born and raised in Asheville, NC and follow NC pretty closely, but couldn’t figure out which of your senators actually stood up to Trump. I’m excited that maybe there is a flicker of hope for him!

Trump and Vance don't represent our country. They represent Putin and the rest of the dictators, and fascism. As Pavlovitz says, there are many of us who. respect and revere Zelensky and are deeply embarrassed by Trump's disrespectful, deluded, and childish behavior.

Deeply embarrassed is far too mild. Speaking for myself, thoroughly enraged is more accurate. This is existential. It's been rolling out for many years and in particular, the last 10. This is on my watch and a defining moment for any legacy I could hope to leave. All hands on deck, unite and resist while we still can.

Ashamed, yes, but of the ugly face of it and those who voted for it. I'd like to know their thoughts today, whether they support this along with all his other treacheries.

No time for that. If they were amenable to reason, facts, evidence, rule of law, or compassion, we wouldn't be here. Know they are probably a lost cause for any hopes of digging out of this catastrophe

I would like to add my name in support of President Zelensky and Ukraine - I still can't believe the humiliation and disrespect by Trump and Vance to Zelensky in that meeting. Sure looked like an ambush to me! Trump looked like a child having a tantrum! Zelensky definitely concerned about not getting guarantees and rightly so since Trump has been on Putin's side for a long time! I hope Zelensky knows how many Americans are with him!

John, thank you for putting into words what so many of us are feeling; shame, embarrassment, and shock for the depraved man who sits in the Oval Office. I have so much respect for President Zelensky; his courage and strength for how he represents his country that was so unfairly attacked by the monster Putin. I hope President Zelensky is aware of how many Americans stand for and respect him.

I just called my reps to ask whose side they are on right now. I am so distressed. This was shameful. And watching the disgusting berating of our (one time) ally while appeasing his tormentor was horrifying. I thought back to the 2017 Oval Office meeting with the fELON and Russians Kislyak and Lavrov, all smiles...and then, this. We must not let this stand.

Thank you for expressing my very thoughts and feelings. I have never been so ashamed to be an American. In my 73 years I have never seen such traitorous, cruel, vile, ignorant, disrespectful, childish, and bullying behavior from any American states-person. And I lived through Viet Nam and Watergate, segregation & the disgusting and shameful Jim Crow south, etc. We have a lot to be ashamed of in our history (which the administration/project 2025 is attempting to rewrite) but all of the shaky gains in civil & human rights were real milestones in building a better world. Watching the dismantling of our democracy and humanity by a bunch of billionaire thugs and their complacent republican backers is heartbreaking. And now we have failed a war hero and honorable man to kowtow to the Russian dictator. Mr. Zelensky, I am so sorry we have failed you.
