I confess that the deplorables have succeeded in one thing as regards my own life: I have become a hater and despiser of their religion and have thought much more often about defending my loved ones from whichever of these people become violent. I hate this state of affairs. I fear for the wellbeing of my special-needs son and my LGBTQ+ child. I will defend them with violence if necessary. I can now understand better how the Civil War divided families. Yes, I am and will forever be an enemy to them, and I know it is a danger to my soul to hate them (and I do hate them). But I am not joyful about it.
Tim: I appreciate your spirit, but you have an inflated sense of what YOU will be able to do. Also, I make no claim to follow Jesus, but I do see a lot of people do, and I see very little to no parallels between Jesus and Christians who vote Trump while knowing full well what he is and what he says he will do. I want no part of your Christianity, and my hope now is that you fully experience the benefits of your vote.

They are the ones betraying the ideals that this country is supposed to stand for, they are the ones supporting a candidate for President who has already, and will continue to, put the desires of foreign dictators ahead of what is good for the world, and our own national security.

I've been recommending you to others for months. I'm interested in your thoughts regarding JohnHopkinsNow 's Substack article today. While I wouldn't normally encourage anyone to buy a gun and support that industry, as a 70yo woman, I think he has a point about defending yourself by using "fire to fight fire". At any rate, I think he's right when he says things are about to get really ugly when Trump loses and we should expect and be prepared for supply interruptions. I'm stocking up again, especially on meds.

I am now working to reassure them that I am one with “those other folks” and I will defend and ally with, in all the ways John stated, “those other folks”, so yes, in fact, it *is* me they see as their enemy, who they hate and demonize as well. And I am not backing away from standing up to them about what is right in the face of their own hate and cognitive dissonance. They need to hear this repeatedly from me and others like me no matter what the outcome of this election. #Voted2024
