Thank you for putting into such eloquent words what I have been feeling.

Your comments today are rock solid spot on! The words and actions of Jesus should bring shame to MAGAs and their failure to comprehend and live by the very same principles they say they believe.

IMO a everyone who reads this really really needs to print out a copy of this essay & mail it to their elected officials — local, state & federal. Especially if your elected officials profess to be Christians. Then print it out again & use it to measure against your own church & Sunday School, just to see if it measures up. Then put the copy into your Bible for future reference. If you do not attend a Christian church that is totally OK. Jesus didn’t attend church or Sunday School either. You still belong to concerned citizens/voters. We are glad to have you!

Additionally, we are instructed not to judge others. But that does not mean we can’t be fruit inspectors….

If they would only open the Book and begin reading. Hot coals would be poured on their heads, but the yield could be purification because there is life and liberty, beauty and abundance in The Word. This is my prayer for those lost in the sea of lies and putrification in the present-day GOP

Yes, if they would only.... MAGA and especially "Christian nationalism" give no evidence of *actually reading* the Bible, especially the Gospels and New Testament. Or if they read it at all, they focus only on pet passages. Probably 8 or 10 years ago, I felt led to spend some time every day reading the Gospels through, until He told me to stop - and He hasn't told me to stop yet! I think maybe these times we've lived are part of why. (I do also read the rest of the Bible every year or so, it all matters!)
