Trevor Silva is the Co-Founder of My Cluck Hut, a people-first, planet-focused soap company that exists to cluck up the status quo. A former touring drummer of 16 years, Trevor spent nearly two decades on the road before realizing that playing other people’s music without an end game wasn’t the dream—it was just a dead-end day job.
Then the 2020 COVID pandemic...
Watching humanity’s ugliest sides surface during the pandemic lit a fire. Instead of shutting down, Trevor got to work. With a killer eco-friendly formula developed by his wife—a PhD chemist—he launched My Cluck Hut: a sustainable, independent, anti-corporate soap company built to fight back. No investors. No greenwashing. No business-as-usual.
The mission? To build a business the right way, and serve as a giant middle finger to unfettered capitalism. To rebalance human, environmental, and financial capitalism. To remind people they’re not just consumers—they’re part of a revolution. The front lines look different for everyone. For Trevor, they start with soap and end with destroying the patriarchy and letting people know that they CLUCKIN’ matter.

Reflection Questions:
When you hear Trevor and Jennifer’s story, what do you find most inspiring?
In your work/career, you may not be able to take as bold a stand as My Cluck Hut has, but is there a way for you to think about the other ways you can use your economic influence?
One of the topics Trevor touched on several times was defiant joy as a weapon against fascism. Do you find it difficult to respond with lightness and humor? Is there a way for you to find more joy in your life and activism?
